The purpose of this blog is to compile, into one place, preparedness information specific to the area in which we live. We provide links to church materials, products, websites, and other related information (including non-religious community resources). All are sincerely invited to participate.
This blog is entitled "Slate Canyon 13th" as the city has deemed church organizations to be an effective way to divide into neighborhood groups for preparedness purposes. We strongly encourage and invite all denominations to participate in planning and preparing. We hope not to offend; rather to unify us as we all strive to be wise in practical matters. We invite your comments and insights!
We have links to Provo City Emergency Preparedness materials and planning, and other community resources including Red Cross, FEMA, and Osha. You are encouraged to educate yourself in areas that are of interest to you and ways in which you might be able to help others' (huge variety of ways).
Community CERT classes are on-going. Sign-up HERE. If you know of other helpful classes, resources and events --- please contact us HERE and we will list them so that all may be benefitted thereby.
We appreciate your help in preparing our neighborhood for any eventualities that may come. As 'our brothers' keepers' we can all do our part to prepare our homes and familes and....to help one another.
None of the products listed on our site are for monetary gain to any of us compiling this blog.
And, this is not an official LDS church website. We accept full-responsibility for all things posted here.

"Too often we bask in our comfortable complacency and rationalize that the ravages of war, economic disaster, famine, and earthquake cannot happen here. Those who believe this are either not acquainted with the revelations of the Lord, or they do not believe them. Those who smugly think these calamities will not happen, that they somehow will be set aside because of the righteousness of the Saints, are deceived and will rue that day they harbored such a delusion". --- Pres. Ezra Taft Benson, Prepare for the Days of Tribulation
